This week has brought on new perspectives in the world of pregnancy! I’ve been experiencing sporadic light-headedness accompanied with blurred vision and the sensation of fainting. the nurse at my doctors office said that it’s common when expecting mothers have one of the following:
-Low Blood Pressure
-Low Blood Sugar
I checked my blood pressure following that discussion and it was 101/65 which is a pretty low diastolic number (the lower digits). My heart rate was normal at 89 and I’ve always suffered from lower blood sugar, so for that to just now affect me is unlikely. I know that I don’t stay hydrated enough so I wasn’t suprised to hear that, but now that it’s giving me these symptoms, I’ll be on top of it like white on rice!
I’m going to be stopping by the store on my way home today to grab some OTC iron supplements and vitamin C (which I was told helps to absorb the iron). it’s been awesome receiving tips from already-mommies.
My sleeping is still not going very well and I feel like it’s my body’s way of preparing me for the lack of sleep that I will be getting when the baby is here. Since it’s been a good week now of crappy sleep, I’m actually waking up a lot easier. It’s almost a “thank goodness I can just wake up” feeling since sleeping is more frustrating than anything. So, maybe it’s a good thing.
I haven’t needed to wake up in the middle of the night to pee which is awesome because usually that leaves me wide awake…but ‘knock on wood’ that’s bound to happen here at any point.
I like stealing Bryce’s snuggling pillow to put between my legs, but he doesn’t let that fly when he’s in bed, so it looks like I’ll have to find & purchase my own 🙂
This week, baby is the size of a Spaghetti Squash and weighing in at a whole pound. Lord Have Mercy! I feel the extra weight but still don’t feel her moving as much as I would like. Those moments where I wake up at night due to discomfort, I can feel her squirming or when I’m laying on the couch watching TV sometimes, but nothing super consistent and nothing that can be felt from the outside yet.
Will update with a week 22 picture very soon!
